Brno Airport has launched the 2026 summer flight season, which should be slightly stronger than last year in terms of flight frequency. According to current plans by airlines and tour operators, the number of flights is expected to increase by approximately 3 percent year-on-year. A total of 34 destinations will be available from Brno in the summer schedule.

We expect the summer season to be very robust operationally, slightly exceeding last year’s total traffic volume. We are pleased that interest in departures from Brno remains stable and is also reflected in the growing number of flights

Milan Kratina

Chairman of the Board of LETIŠTĚ BRNO a.s.

In the 2026 summer season, a total of 34 destinations will be available from Brno. Of these, three are scheduled flights: London (Stansted), Milan (Bergamo) and Malaga in Spain. Malaga, introduced by Ryanair in spring 2025, has proven successful very quickly, with nearly 30,000 passengers using it in its first year.

A new addition this season is the return of the Greek island of Kefalonia, which is coming back to the charter portfolio after several years. The scheduled route to Milan (Bergamo) will also be strengthened, now operating three times a week instead of the previous two rotations. More than 20,000 passengers used this route last year alone.

Charter flights to seaside destinations continue to make up the bulk of operations, especially to Greece, Egypt, Bulgaria and Turkey, which have long been among the most popular holiday destinations.

The structure of the flight schedule reflects the destinations that passengers have long shown the greatest interest in. The summer season begins on 29 March and will last until the end of October. It is primarily based on charter flights, whose form is determined by tour operators according to client demand. Our goal is to manage the season just as successfully as in previous years and to offer passengers connections that are in the highest demand from Brno

The season is expanding

This year again confirms the trend of gradually extending operations into the shoulder months, which was already evident last year. More flights are scheduled for April and May, as well as for September and October, while the peak during the main summer holidays is slightly more evenly distributed compared to previous years. This development reflects the growing interest of passengers in travelling outside the main holiday weeks, both for vacations and scheduled flights.

In terms of the number of destinations in this year’s summer season, it is slightly lower compared to last year, mainly due to adjustments in the holiday destination offer by tour operators. Compared to last year, charter destinations Barcelona and Murcia, as well as the regular route to Rome, will not be included this season. On the other hand, the already mentioned Kefalonia will be added, bringing the total number of destinations this year to 34. However, the key factor for the overall evaluation of the season is the number of completed flights, which is expected to increase by approximately 3 percent year-on-year.

A total of five aircraft will be based at Brno Airport during the summer season: three aircraft operated by Smartwings and one each by Electra Airways and Hello Jets. Additional carriers will also provide transport from Brno during the season, including Aegean Airlines, Air Montenegro, Corendon Airlines and Freebird Airlines.
