Travel documents for citizens of the Czech Republic
A citizen of the Czech Republic may travel abroad only with a valid travel document, which means:
- a valid passport or another type of travel document according to Act No. 329/1999 Coll., on travel documents, as amended,
- a valid national ID card when travelling to countries of the European Union and to Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland.
The passport, as well as the national ID card, is considered a travel document only for its holder, not for children listed in it. More information about travelling with children can be found in the section Travelling with Children.
