Standard check-in

Where check-in takes place

The check-in counters are located in the departure hall and are marked with the flight number, destination name, and departure time. A valid travel document must be presented at check-in.

Check-in procedure at the counter

At the counter, you hand over your baggage for check-in to your destination, receive your boarding pass and baggage tag, and then proceed to the security check and the gate.

Electronic check-in (online check-in)

Online check-in from home

Some airlines require electronic (online) check-in in advance. This option is usually available from several days to a few hours before departure. Be sure to check your airline’s check-in rules well ahead of time.

After arriving at the airport

At the airport, go to the counter only if you need to check in hold baggage. If you are traveling with cabin baggage only, you can proceed directly to the security check and then to the gate. Don’t forget to have your boarding pass and a valid travel document ready.

Important information for passengers

Arrive at check-in on time

The check-in process usually begins 2–3 hours before the scheduled departure and closes 30–40 minutes prior. Always check the specific check-in times in your airline’s conditions of carriage. Please note that in case of a flight delay, the check-in closing time does not change.

Document check before security screening

Your travel document and boarding pass will be checked before you proceed to the security screening.

Rules for cabin baggage

Check with your airline how many pieces of cabin baggage you are allowed to bring on board. The rules regarding their weight and size are also extremely important!

Boarding check

Before boarding the aircraft, an airport staff member will again check your travel document, boarding pass, and the quantity, size, and weight of your cabin baggage.

Arrive on time

The check-in process usually starts 2-3 hours before the scheduled departure time and ends 40-30 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Always check the airline's conditions of carriage for check-in start and end times. Please note that in the event of delays, the original check-in end time at the check-in counters does not change and always remains in relation to the original scheduled departure time.
